Most of our college programs offer a number of courses online which means a student can work from home with an internet-connected computer. Some courses are offered as hybrid, which is part traditional and part as online which minimizes travel days to the campus in Pinehurst.
We offer a good number of classes at the Hoke Center for our Mini-Mesters each semester.

Student Resources
Students attending curriculum classes at the Sandhills Hoke Center have available to them all resources available to students attending classes on the Pinehurst Campus.
Bookstore
Sandhills Hoke Center students can purchase textbooks in one of two ways:
In-person in the Barnes & Noble Bookstore located in the Dempsey Student Center on the Sandhills Community College Pinehurst Campus. Students using financial aid to purchase textbooks must wait until the published purchase date. This is typically one week prior to the beginning of each semester. Refer to the Completing Your Registration sheet attached to your class schedule for dates and times.
Online from Barnes & Noble (easily found in the Quicklinks top right). Students must place orders by the deadline published by Barnes & Noble. Students receiving financial aid may use this service as well. Students have the option of picking up their books at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore on the Pinehurst Campus or having books shipped to their home address.
Library
Sandhills Hoke Center students are afforded an equivalent level of service that is available on the Pinehurst campus. Using the six computers in the Hoke Resource Room, students can access Boyd Library’s on-line public access catalogue, all electronic databases, ebooks and send requests for Remote Access to library@sandhills.edu via our web site. A daily shuttle between the main campus and Hoke Center is available to deliver and return materials as requested.
Additionally, students, faculty and staff at the Hoke Center can use the designated computer in the Hoke Resource Room to meet their reference and research needs via live video chat with a librarian in Boyd Library. On an as available basis, Hoke Center patrons can video chat with a librarian by following instructions posted at the designated computer. A Resource Room assistant will be able to answer questions.
Personal Counseling
A personal counselor is on staff at the Sandhills Hoke Center to assist students with academic, personal, mental, or social issues that may be interfering with academic success. There is no fee for counseling services and sessions are strictly confidential. If you desire to seek counseling services off-campus or if you need long-term therapeutic services, our counselors will be happy to refer students to local providers.
Rosa McAllister-McRae is available for counseling in 112 Johnson Hall or phone her at 910.878.5804.
