Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Our graduates have local employment opportunities with FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Scotland Health, UNC Health, Duke Health, Pinehurst Medical Center, and Cape Fear Valley Hospital. Sandhills Community College Associate Degree in Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
The Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) Program at Sandhills Community College has been notified that the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) Board of Commissioners has changed the program’s accreditation status to Probationary Accreditation for a period of thirty-six (36) months. This action is effective June 11, 2026, and extends through June 30, 2029. The program’s Probationary Status will be re-evaluated after the Fall 2026 site visit.
Probationary Accreditation indicates that the program does not fully meet one or more accreditation standards at the time of review. During this period, the Sandhills Community College ADN Program will continue to implement a comprehensive plan of improvement and remains committed to maintaining high-quality nursing education and achieving full compliance with all NLN CNEA standards.
The program continues to operate and admit students, and faculty and administration are actively addressing the areas identified by NLN CNEA to ensure ongoing program quality and student success.
