Get ready for Summer 2026 in Moore County! College for Kids camps are returning with hands-on experiences designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners.
While registration is not yet open, this preview gives you a look at the types of camps we’re planning so you can begin preparing for a fun and engaging summer.
What to Expect
Our camps are designed for children ages 8–14, with select programs available for older participants. Each camp focuses on interactive learning experiences that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and creativity.

Life on a Farm Camp Ages: 8-14
This camp offers an exciting opportunity for students to gain insight into the inner workings of small farms. Each day campers will explore a farm featuring various animals and agriculture to engage in hands-on activities with different farm animals as well as produce/vegetables/flowers. The daily schedule includes enjoyable experiences that stimulate creativity, foster teamwork and enhance confidence. Campers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the local farms each day of camp. A detailed schedule of farms will be provided closer to the start date. Sterling Silver Rings Ages: 12-16
Explore the fundamentals of metalsmithing and complete a sterling silver ring band in this 3-hour workshop. Students will gain a basic understanding of how to solder with an oxy acetylene torch and use a variety of metal forming tools such as hammers and mandrels. As a class we will work step by step to measure our ring size and then fabricate our rings out of sheet metal. No previous experience in metal work necessary. CEU: 0.3

Intro to Relief Printmaking: From Block to Press Ages: 12-16
Explore the fundamentals of relief printmaking in this comprehensive 3-hour workshop. Students will gain hands-on experience using carving tools, linoleum blocks, and a printmaking press to produce a cohesive set of prints or cards. Instruction will also include techniques for transferring designs onto fabric, allowing each participant to create a custom-printed t-shirt. This class is ideal for beginners interested in learning traditional printmaking methods in a supportive, guided environment. CEU: 0.3

Discover the art of bookmaking in this hands-on workshop designed for creative minds. Students will explore foundational techniques, materials and binding methods while crafting their own personalized sketchbook journal from start to finish. Along the way, we’ll discuss how keeping a sketchbook nurtures artistic growth, idea development, and creative confidence. Leave with a handmade journal and the inspiration to fill every page. Drones Camp Ages: 8-14
Whether you’re new to drones or ready to level up your skills, this camp is designed for you. Campers will learn how to fly drones safely and responsibly while capturing impressive aerial footage. Topics include drone mechanics, precision flight control, FAA guidelines, flight planning, altitude and throttle management, and visual orientation. By the end of camp, students will feel confident, informed and ready for exciting drone adventures ahead! CEU: 1.4

Robotics Camp Ages: 8-14
Step into the world of robotics! Campers will learn how to design, build and program robots to complete a variety of tasks. Through hands-on activities, they’ll explore mechanical and electrical components, basic programming and control systems while discovering different types of robots—including wheeled robots, humanoids and drones—and how they’re used in fields like manufacturing, healthcare and entertainment. By the end of camp, students will understand core robotics principles, gain skills in simple robot design and programming, and explore how robotics is shaping the future. Junior Educators: Babysitting & Childcare Basics Camp Ages: 8-14
Perfect for kids who love helping others, this hands-on camp introduces the basics of responsible babysitting and quality childcare. Campers will learn child safety, age-appropriate supervision, communication skills, and how to engage younger children through games, stories, songs, and simple activities. Along the way, they’ll explore professionalism, problem-solving, and what it means to be a trusted helper. STEAM Max Camp Ages: 8-14
STEAM Max Camp allows campers to explore the fields of science, technology, engineering, visual arts, culinary arts and math through fun engaging activities. Campers rotate through five sessions each day creating their own video games, completing engineering challenges using math and science concepts, learning creative tricks in the culinary arts kitchen, coding robots and using problem-solving skills to tackle real-world challenges. (Cost includes a t-shirt, snacks and drinks. Campers must bring lunch and are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle.). CEU: 3.0

Fishing Camp: From First Cast to Pro Techniques Ages: 11-14
For beginner and experienced anglers, this hands-on Fishing Camp helps campers build confidence and sharpen skills on the water. Campers learn fishing fundamentals such as safe casting, baiting hooks, tying essential knots, and proven techniques to catch fish in local waters. Focus is on largemouth bass and bluegill, with flexibility based on camper interest. A fun, skill-building camp for anyone ready to learn, improve and fish independently. CEU: 1.4

Coding & 3D Printing Camp Ages: 11-14
Come create with us! Through our 3D Printing, Design and Coding Bootcamp we will encourage students to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills. Using Sphero robots, instructors will demonstrate how to program a robot using Sphero Edu. Building on this strong foundation, students will be introduced to Tinkercad, an online design tool through which they can practice their 3D creation skills. After completing their projects, students take home a piece of their own creation. CEU: 1.4

Young Chefs Culinary Camp Ages: 10-14
Does your child love creating in the kitchen? Campers will learn essential chef skills, including proper knife techniques, food safety fundamentals, and baking fresh bread from scratch. They’ll even harvest vegetables from our culinary garden to use in their recipes. Each day brings new flavors to explore, confidence to build, and creations to taste. The week wraps up with campers decorating their own cake—a sweet celebration of all they’ve learned. Your young chef will leave proud, inspired and ready to cook for the whole family! CEU: 1.6

Moore County 4-H Youth Leadership (4-H MCYL) Camp Ages: 13-16
Moore County Chamber of Commerce, for a hands-on leadership experience! Teens will build communication, leadership and real-world skills through interactive activities, community tours and a financial literacy simulation. Transportation is provided for all off-site tours during the camp. This is a unique opportunity to connect with peers, explore local resources and gain skills for school, work and life.
