Get ready for Summer 2026 in Hoke County! College for Kids camps are returning with hands-on experiences designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners.

While registration is not yet open, this preview gives you a look at the types of camps we’re planning so you can begin preparing for a fun and engaging summer.

What to Expect

Our camps are designed for children ages 8–14, with select programs available for older participants. Each camp focuses on interactive learning experiences that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and creativity.

Camps are expected to begin the week of June 15 and run through the week of August 3. Families are encouraged to review upcoming options and plan ahead before registration opens.

Life on a Farm Camp Ages: 8–14 

This camp offers an exciting opportunity for students to gain insight into the inner workings of small farms. Each day campers will explore a farm featuring various animals and agriculture to engage in hands-on activities with different farm animals as well as produce/vegetables/flowers. The daily schedule includes enjoyable experiences that stimulate creativity, foster teamwork, and enhance confidence. Campers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the local farms each day of camp. A detailed schedule of farms will be provided closer to the start date. In partnership with the NC Cooperative Extension of Hoke County & Local Farm Friends. CEU: 1.4

From Dirt to Discovery Camp Ages: 8–14

This camp turns curiosity into creation! Campers will explore the science behind natural processes while experimenting, building and creating with their own hands. Each day brings a new discovery rooted in sustainability, creativity and fun. CEU: 1.4

Junior Baker Bootcamp: From Classroom to Cake Shop Ages: 8-11 & Ages: 12-14

This one-day bakery adventure blends hands-on baking with inspiration. Campers will create a sweet treat while learning about business owner Kayla’s journey from Sandhills Community College culinary student to local bakery owner—sparking creativity, confidence and future career dreams. Campers will head home proudly with a personalized, decorated six-pack of cupcakes and their very own Kayla Renee Cakes apron, because every great baker needs the right gear! CEU: 0.3

Backyard Explorers & Bird Camp Ages: 8-14

Campers will explore the fascinating world of birds through hands-on learning and outdoor discovery. They’ll try their hand at beginner woodworking by building a birdhouse, head out on a guided bird-watching nature walk and learn how to create bird-friendly spaces at home. This camp blends creativity, nature and exploration for a truly memorable experience. CEU: 1.4
