The Sandhills Community College Foundation is proud to host the 35th Annual Coca-Cola Classic Golf Tournament, presented by South Atlantic Galvanizing. This prestigious event has been a staple in the community golf scene since 1989, raising vital funds to support Sandhills Community College, the Athletics Department, and our dedicated student-athletes.

A Legacy of Giving

Founded under the leadership of Dr. John Dempsey and continuing under the vision of Dr. Alexander 'Sandy' Stewart, the Coca-Cola Classic has become a cornerstone of philanthropic giving for Sandhills Community College. The past 34 years have netted over $900,000 in support for students to Learn, Engage, and Belong at SCC.  From our signature sponsor, Coca-Cola, to our long-standing partner South Atlantic Galvanizing, along with the unwavering support of local businesses and friends of the college, this tournament has earned its reputation as a premier golfing event, a testament to the community's commitment and pride.

The Coca-Cola Classic is more than just a competition; it's a day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and giving back to our community. Held annually in August or September on the beautiful courses of Pine Needles and Mid Pines Golf Clubs, the tournament offers a chance to:

Your participation in the Coca-Cola Classic directly benefits the SCC Athletics Department, providing essential resources for our student-athletes.  These funds contribute to the overall Athletics Operations of SCC Flyers to include:

  • Athletic equipment and facilities
  • Travel expenses and Uniforms for competitions
  • Academic support programs
