Trained Professionals are available for a telephone assessment and if deemed necessary, will come to your location to meet face to face within 2 hours.

Support is available for individuals experiencing emotional distress, mental health concerns, substance use challenges, or thoughts of suicide. Services are confidential, compassionate, and available to help connect individuals with immediate care and local resources.

24/7 Counseling Services - Student Assistance Program 

Any enrolled SCC student can receive help for personal, professional, or school concerns through the Student Assistance Program (SAP). Students will be connected to a professional clinician from the first phone call.  

Services are free, confidential, and available 24/7.  We offer up to 3 sessions per issue for students and permanent household family members. Counseling is available by phone, virtually, or in person.

Suicide Prevention Training

The QPR one-hour Gatekeeper Training teaches you how to better recognize signs of suicide and support people in crisis. The training will cover the following topics:  

  • How to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal  
  • How to get help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide  
  • The common causes of suicidal behavior  
  • The warning signs of suicide  
  • How to get help for someone in crisis

Self-Help Screening

Take a confidential questionnaire to determine if you or someone you care about should connect with a behavioral health professional. 

Online screening tools are not diagnostic instruments. You are encouraged to share your results with a physician or healthcare provider.

  • Trillium - Trillium has a network of providers that serve Moore, Hoke and surrounding counties. Trillium offers treatment and support for mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities and substance use disorders. 
  • Find a Therapist - This is a tool operates by using the zip code for your area to provide information about local counselors and therapists.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Full time employees and their dependents are eligible for up to 6 free mental health counseling sessions with a local therapist. Fill out the form and an EAP representative will contact you and triage your basic contact information. You will be contacted by a therapist in your area to set up your first appointment.

  • National Sexual Assault Hotline

    Connect with a trained staff member from a sexual assault service provider in your area that offers access to a range of free services. Crisis chat support is available at Online Hotline. Free help, 24/7.
  • National Domestic Violence Hotline

    Trained expert advocates are available 24/7 to provide confidential support to anyone experiencing domestic violence or seeking resources and information. Help is available in Spanish and other languages.
  • Eating Disorder Hotlines - Eating disorder helplines offer assistance, information, and support for individuals dealing with eating disorders. Staffed by trained professionals, they provide a safe space to discuss struggles, seek guidance, and receive referrals for treatment options and emotional support.
  • Veterans Crisis Line - 24/7 confidential crisis support for Veterans and their families.

  • Mental Health is Health - An initiative rooted in the reality that we all have mental health and need to take care of it like we do our physical health. The initiative aims to normalize conversation, create a connection to resources and inspire action on mental health.
