The Small Business Center Network (SBCN) at Sandhills Community College, under the direction of Sara Holden, has announced a new class offering to be held at the Hoke Center campus beginning Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026. The class will run from noon to 2 p.m. and continue for two additional Thursday sessions, concluding Feb. 19.
The course will focus on agribusiness and will be taught by Michael Mollohan.
“This is geared for residents who are ready to grow their farming dreams into a thriving business,” said Holden. “The series is designed for small farm owners, homesteaders, and anyone passionate about agriculture.”
Participants will learn practical strategies for soil preparation, crop planning, and farm management, while also exploring marketing and financial tools to help make their operations sustainable and profitable. This hands-on series will highlight opportunities to collaborate with culinary and horticulture programs and is ideal for those interested in value-added products and farm-to-table ventures.
Whether starting out or looking to expand, participants will gain knowledge and confidence to succeed in today’s agricultural economy. There is no cost to attend, and registration is available through the Small Business Center Network workshop registration page.
Additional classes offered through March include Navigating Food Entrepreneurship; Growing Rural Prosperity: Small Farm & Ag Business in NC; AI Tools for Real Business, Real Results (Spanish) at the SCC Robbins Center; and the Setting the Table Series with Chef Dani Black (online), which includes:
