The annual community Trunk or Treat event, hosted by Sandhills Community College and Sandhoke Early College High School, will take place on Saturday, October 25, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Sandhills Hoke Center campus.
The Trunk or Treat event welcomes children and families from Hoke County and nearby areas, from grades K-12. This popular, long-standing event brings the community together for an afternoon of fun. Guests are invited to wear their best costume and enjoy music, games, food trucks, slushies, and lots of candy.
Volunteers will hand out candy from their car trunks and kids are encouraged to bring something to collect their treats. Campus community members interested in volunteering as trunk participants should sign up in advance. Any SCC organization, department, or club wishing to participate in Trunk or Treat as a decorated trunk should register ahead of time. Candy donations are welcome from any department. To donate please email Rosa McAllister-McRae mcallisterr@sandhills.edu to arrange a drop-off. All donations must be received by Friday, October 24.
McAllister-McRae, Sr. Director of Engagement and Public Relations, said, “Trunk or Treat is one of our favorite traditions, and thanks to our amazing team – Connecting Hoke Through Action, Service and Engagement or CHASE– it keeps getting better every year! We love seeing the community come together in costume for candy, games, and good vibes. Come out, have fun, and let’s make this the spookiest, sweetest event yet.”
Guests are also encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. The Trunk or Treat will be held at 1110 East Central Avenue, Raeford, NC 28376 and parking attendants will be hand. For additional information, please feel free to email Rosa McAllister-McRae at mcallisterr@sandhills.edu or Stephanie McGirt at smcgirt@hcs.k12.nc.us
