Family, friends, neighbors, and the surrounding community are invited to come stroll
the grounds at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst to see a new holiday display
of light tunnels and more than 15 decorated themed trees. The exhibition will be on
display now through January 5, 2026 from 4:30 p.m. to midnight.
Guests will be able to take in the display along the brick pathway connecting the
Boyd Library and Dempsey Student Center.
“This is a great opportunity to spread our holiday cheer with the community and especially
to guests are visiting BPAC performances, basketball games, other events or campus
for just a fun night out to see the lights,” said President Alexander “Sandy” Stewart.
“We are so impressed with facilities director Steven Garner and his team who have
set up the light display and the trees and to our faculty, staff and students who
have decorated the trees. It’s such a joyous treat and experience.”
Each tree along the pathway has its own theme and unique design.
Guests are encouraged to park toward the back of campus near the tennis and volleyball
courts to walk through the Dempsey Student Center to enter the display or they can
park in the Bradshaw Performing Arts Center (BPAC) lot and enter through the brick
pathway leading to the Boyd Library.
In addition to the holiday lights, families are encouraged to visit the Sandhills
Horticultural Gardens open from dawn to dusk and have fun at the Flyers basketball
games in the Hangar in the Dempsey Student Center. See www.sccflyers.com for game times. Directions and a campus map can be found at www.sandhills.edu.
