  • Paid in Full ($0.00 balance)
  • Sufficient Pending Financial Aid (as shown in your student account)

Refund Policy - Tuition

The College will adhere to State government policies regarding refund of student tuition and fees:

  • A 100% refund shall be issued if the student officially withdraws prior to the first day of the academic semester as noted in the college calendar.
  • A 100% refund shall be issued if the class in which the student is officially registered is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
  • A 75% refund of tuition only (no fees) shall be issued if the student officially withdraws from class(es) prior to or on the 10% point of the semester.
  • No refund shall be issued if a student officially withdraws from class(es) after the 10% point of the semester.

Should a student, having paid the required tuition for a term, die during that term (prior to or on the last day of examinations), all tuition and fees for that semester may be refunded to the estate of the deceased. This is state policy as stated in the North Carolina Administrative Code, Chapter 23 2D.0202.

Military Refund Policy

Upon request of the student, the College shall:

  1. Grant a full refund of tuition and registration fees to military reserve and National Guard personnel called to active duty or active-duty personnel who have received temporary or permanent reassignments as a result of military operations that make it impossible for them to complete their course requirements; and
  2. Buy back textbooks through the Colleges' bookstore operations to the extent allowable under the College’s buy back procedures.
  3. The College shall use distance learning technologies and other educational methodologies, to the extent possible as determined by the college, to help active-duty military students, under the guidance of faculty and administrative staff, complete their course requirements.

Business Office Hold & Collection Procedures

Accounts must be paid in full. Failure to pay accounts in full may result in a hold on the student’s account that would prevent the following:

  • Registration for subsequent curriculum or continuing education courses
  • Transcript requests
  • Receipt of diploma

If a student owes a debt of $50 or more and the account has been delinquent for more than 90 days, the account may be turned over to the North Carolina Department of Revenue Debt Setoff Program.

Once an account has been placed with the Debt Setoff Program, it will remain with the North Carolina Department of Revenue until the debt has been settled.
