How to use Web Advisor

Financial Information

Click on Account Summary or Account Summary by Term.

Financial Aid

Click on Financial Aid Status by year or Financial Aid Status by term or Financial Aid Award letter.

If you have no Financial Aid information, click the Browser BACK BUTTON to return to the previous page.

Search for Course Sections

Click on the Search for Sections link and the menu below will appear on your screen.

Follow these steps to search for sections on WebAdvisor:

  1. Select a term from the drop-down box Example: CU Fall 2009
    OR
    Enter the Starting On/After Date and Ending By Date Example: 08/17/09 – 12/15/09
    NOTE: You must enter one of these options, but not both.
  2. Select at least one of the other options.
    Example: Click on the drop down menu for SUBJECTS and select a subject.
    Note: Course Levels is not a recommended option.
  3. Then click SUBMIT
    The Section Select Results menu will appear with a listing of sections based on the criteria you entered.
  4. Click on any Section Name and Title to get additional information about the course. After reviewing the course information, click on CLOSE WINDOW to go back to the Section Selection Results screen.
  5. On the Section Selection Results screen, click OK to return to the menu
    OR
    Click the Back Arrow in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to return to the Search for Sections screen

Search and Register for Sections

Click on Students.

Under Registration, click on Register For Sections.

Click on Search and Register for Sections.

A. Select a Term from the drop-down box.
Example: 
CU SPRING 2011

OR

B. Enter Starting On/After Date and Ending By Date.

Example:
Starting on/After Date 01/10/11
Ending By Date 05/10/11

You must enter ONE of these Options. Do Not Use Both.

Next, select at least one of the other options, Subject, Course Number or Section.
(You must select at least one but preferably two.)

Note: Do not use Course Level.

Example: Click the drop down menu for Subjects and select a subject. Enter the Course Number. English 111.

Note: To further narrow your search you may also enter Meeting Times and Days.

Click SUBMIT.

The Section Selection Results will list sections based on the criteria you entered.

(For additional information about a course, click any Section Name and Title.)

Click Select for the section(s) that you want to add to your Preferred Sections List.

Note: This does not register you for the class(es). It only adds the section(s) to your Preferred Sections List.

Click SUBMIT.

The Register and Drop Sections Screen will appear.

Under Preferred Sections, click on the Action drop down box and select Register for the course(s) you wish to register for.

Click SUBMIT.

If there are error messages:
Your Register and Drop Sections screen will remain.
Review any error messages. Error messages will appear in red at the top of the screen.
You can click on the Action arrow and select Remove From List for any error classes.

If there are no error messages:
Your Registration Results screen will appear.
The status column for each section will state: Registered for this Section

Click OK to end this registration session. You will be returned to the WebAdvisor main Menu.

Express Registration

Click on Students.

Under Registration, click on Register For Sections.

Click on Express Registration.

A. Enter: The course Synonym Number. (Entering this number will auto-populate all of the remaining course information.)
Example: 0017896

OR

B. Enter Subject Course Number Section Term.
Example: English 111 001 CU Fall 2010

You may use both options.

Click SUBMIT.

Note: This does not register you for the class(es). It only adds the section(s) to your Preferred Sections List.

The Register and Drop Sections Screen will appear.

(For additional information about a course, click any Section Name and Title.)

Under Preferred Sections, click on the Action drop down box and select Register for the course(s) you wish to register for.

Click SUBMIT.

If there are error messages:
Your Register and Drop Sections screen will remain.

Review any error messages. Error messages will appear in red at the top of the screen.
You can click on the Action arrow and select Remove From List for any error classes.

If there are no error messages:
Your Registration Results screen will appear.
The status column for each section will state: Registered for this Section

Click OK to end this registration session. You will be returned to the WebAdvisor main Menu.

Register for Previously Selected Sections

Click on Students.

Under Registration, click on Register For Sections.

Click on Register For Previously Selected Sections.

The Register and Drop Sections Screen will appear.

Under Preferred Sections, click on the Action drop down box and select Register for the course(s) you wish to register for.

Click SUBMIT.

If there are error messages:
Your Register and Drop Sections screen will remain.

Review any error messages. Error messages will appear in red at the top of the screen.
You can click on the Action arrow and select Remove From List for any error classes.

If there are no error messages:
Your Registration Results screen will appear.
The status column for each section will state: Registered for this Section

Click OK to end this registration session. You will be returned to the WebAdvisor main Menu.

Drop Sections

Click on Students.

Under Registration, click on Register for Sections.

Click on Drop Sections.

The Register and Drop Sections Screen will appear.

Under Current Registrations, click the Drop box to select the course(s) you are already registered for but now wish to drop.

Click SUBMIT.

If there are error messages:
Your Register and Drop Sections screen will remain.

Review any error messages. Error messages will appear in red at the top of the screen.
You can click on the Action arrow and select Remove From List for any error classes.

If there are no error messages:
Your Registration Results screen will appear.
The status column for each section will state: Registered for this Section

Click OK to end this registration session. You will be returned to the WebAdvisor main Menu.

Academic Profile

Click on Grade Point Average by Term.

Click on Transcript. Select CU Curriculum Transcript from the drop down box on transcript type and click Submit. This screen also gives your cumulative GPA information.

NOTE: Leaving this box blank will show CE or CU transcript information, dependent upon which Academic Level you first registered. As such, do not leave this box blank.

Click on My Class Schedule. Shows only classes for which you have not already received grades.

Click on My Profile. Shows your demographic and academic data, including your advisor’s contact information.

Click on Test Summary. Shows placement and other entrance test scores. (Scores are valid for five years but older scores may still be visible.
If you have no Testing information, click the Browser BACK BUTTON to return to the previous page. Clicking OK will not work.
