The College draws all of its courses from the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) Combined Course Library which standardizes contact and credit hours for all 58 community colleges in the state.

Credit for all courses is based on state and federal legal definitions of a “credit hour” (N.C. State Board of Community College Code 1D SBCCC 400.1(c) and the SACSCOC Credit Hours Policy Statement).

Each course is assigned the same amount and level of credit regardless of instructional location or modality.

The College Catalog details credit awarded in these areas:

  • Transfer Credit
  • Credit by Examination
  • Continuing Education to Curriculum Prior Learning Credit
  • ACA Credit by Examination
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Course Credit
  • College Credit for High School for Career and Technical Education (CTE) Courses
  • Credit for Experiential Learning
  • Credit for Military Training
