Sandhills Community College (SCC) today proudly announced the establishment of its new Workforce Development & Corporate Partnerships Division, aimed at bridging education with industry, enhancing workforce readiness, and fostering robust corporate collaborations. This strategic initiative will be led by Dr. Fallon McIver Brewington as Vice President and Taylor McCaskill as Senior Director of Workforce Strategy & Partnership Innovation.

Through innovative workforce strategies and collaboration with corporate partners, this new division will foster robust partnerships to provide the community and SCC students with practical, hands-on experiences and career services that enhance their employability and professional growth. Through this program, SCC hopes to empower the community and students by bridging skills, interests, and academic achievements with real-world career opportunities.

The Workforce Development & Corporate Partnerships Division at SCC will offer students:
- Career Exploration and Planning: Students will have access to comprehensive career counseling and planning services to help align their educational goals with industry demands.
- Industry Partnerships and Experiential Learning Programs: The division will establish new and fortify existing partnerships with local and regional businesses to expand internship, apprenticeship, and job placement opportunities.
- Customized Training & Organization Development Programs: Students will have the opportunity to utilize tailored training solutions to meet the specific needs of local industries, enhancing workforce skills and supporting organizational development.
- Career Readiness through Curriculum Development: The division integrates career readiness components into the curriculum, including soft skills training, industry-specific certifications, and practical problem-solving exercises that students will take with them as they enter the workforce.
The division will work closely with various departments within the College, local businesses, and industry leaders to ensure that students receive education and training that is directly applicable to their future careers in Moore and Hoke Counties. This collaborative effort will include regular networking events, job fairs, and the development of new partnership programs.
