Sandhills Community College is pleased to announce two apprenticeships in partnership
with RhemaWeb located in West End, NC. Recently assuming their roles, Peyton Cuneo, IT Technician/Generalist apprentice and Dana Spence Digital Marketing Specialist apprentice, have started to make impact with the growing
company.
“We wanted to participate in the apprentice program because we were looking to grow
our team and wanted candidates that were motivated to learn our information technology
industry so we could train them within our company to learn some of the most cutting-edge
AI solutions,” said Nick Mihalovich, owner of RhemaWeb. “They're already making contributions.
One is studying Cyber Security at Sandhills and is learning how to handle incident
response cases and a much wider world of technology, and the other just graduated
with an associate degree in programming, who is learning the power of AI in the development
world and how it can automate. Working with the college to get the students onboarded
has been a seamless process.”
RhemaWeb offers IT Consulting, Website Design and Residential Support. They work with
innovative technology to drive business growth and efficiency by tailoring tech strategies
to uniquely fit and elevate each business’s goals and operations.
“These positions are a collaborative effort between RhemaWeb, The Sandhills School
of Business, Technology, and Entrepreneurship and the Workforce Development and Corporate
Partnerships division at SCC,” said Matthew Zullo, Department Head for the School
of Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship. “We’re excited to create opportunities
for Sandhills graduates, as well as newer students to illustrate how workplace learning
directly connects to real and meaningful employment.”
Zullo added that, through the partnership between Sandhills Community College and
RhemaWeb, they are creating meaningful Information Technology career pathways that
strengthen the workforce, while providing SCC students with the opportunity to receive
valuable hands-on experience directly related to their academic course of study.
“These registered apprenticeships are a testament to what can be accomplished when
education and industry work together with a shared commitment to developing talent,”
said Jason Levister, Director of Workplace Learning Programs at Sandhills Community
College.
