Multi-Factor Authentication
Students are now required to use the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app when using student Office 365 email services. You will be forced to make this change within the next few weeks. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security enhancement that requires two forms of verification when using your Office 365 Login and adds critical protection for your sign-on credentials.
Get Started
User experience from Phone
- Download & install the Microsoft Authenticator app to your Android or iOS mobile device.
- Sign in to your account security dashboard.
- Select Add a new way to sign in or verify and choose Use an app.
- If you’ve already installed the app, select Next to display a QR code appear on the screen.
- In the authenticator app, select [three dots] then + Add account.
- Choose the account type and select Scan a QR code.
- Scan the code shown on the screen in step 4.
- Select Finish on the PC to complete the setup.
User experience from PC
1. User logs into Sandhills Email account.
2. User taps Next and steps through the Authenticator app setup.
2a. First download the app on your phone.
2b. See how to set up the Authenticator app.
2c. Scan the QR Code.
2d. Approve the test notification.
2e.Notification approved.
2f. Authenticator app is now successfully set up as the user's default sign-in method.
