The State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Foundation, in partnership with the NC Community College System, has awarded Sandhills Community College funding to provide financial assistance to students who seek training through the college’s Workforce Continuing Education Department.
The funding was awarded to support the SECU Bridge to Career Pilot Program. This program is an initiative designed to remove financial barriers for students seeking training to acquire a sustainable living.
Sandhills Community College will award the funds, up to $500 per student, to students who enroll in Phlebotomy, Certified Production Technician, or Mechanical Power Transmission Fundamentals Level 3 – programs leading to an industry-recognized credential or certification. The grant funds will be available during the current academic year.
The college has a designated number of scholarships for each training program. Students may use awarded funds to offset registration fees, books, certification fees, course supplies, and other necessary related costs.
Additionally, as a component of the SECU Bridge to Career Program, students will be guided to valuable resources such as soft skill building and job seeking skills, both on campus and in the community, to remove barriers to career goals.
For additional information or to find out more about the scholarships or other scholarship funding opportunities, contact Jason Levister at (910) 695-3778 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
