Job Summary   

The athletic department work study will be an integral part of our department running smoothly. They will help run cameras and broadcast production equipment. They may be asked to take up money at the gate or in concessions. They may also do some writing on contributing to stories on our athletics website. Some of the work will take place at night and on weekends. Including potential work when other students are out of school for holidays.

Essential Functions   

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:   

Primary Duties:   

  • Assist in game broadcasts.
  • Assist with media coverage of athletic events and practices.
  • Run a concession stand.
  • Run a ticket window.
  • Interact with attendees and deliver a great first impression to all who come to athletic events.    

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications   

  • Knowledge and understanding of the games of basketball and volleyball. Desire to pursue a potential career in sport or sport related field.

Job Summary   

We need folks that have an understanding of the rules of volleyball and are capable of washing and hanging uniforms for basketball.  The persons will also be expected to help with day-to-day operations concerning all aspects of basketball operations.

Essential Functions

Primary Duties:   

  • Officiate volleyball games in fall and spring.  
  • Wash and hang practice gear for the basketball team.  

Minimum Qualifications   

  • Need to have a knowledge of volleyball and basketball

  • A working knowledge of the rules of volleyball and the ability to operate a washing machine and dryer.

Working Conditions   

Persons will be working in Heins gym and at the beach volleyball courts.

Job Summary   

The Program Aide/Youth Development Professional plans, implements and supervises members, and evaluates activities and outcomes within a specific program area, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship.

perform basic tasks in Etrieve and Excel, as needed.

Job Summary   

The Russell Fitness Center (RFC) Work Study’s primary responsibilities include consistent monitoring of the RFC, proper check-in/check-out of the RFC via Engage card swipe system and helping to maintain the safety and cleanliness of the RFC. Also, maintaining and updating the bulletin board outside of the RFC. The ideal RFC work study should be organized, dependable, and personable.

Looking for 1 person with afternoon availability (1pm-4pm) and 1 person with morning availability (8am-11am).

Essential Functions   

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:   

Primary Duties:   

  • Perform proper student check-in/out in the RFC using Engage Software 
  • Maintaining safety in the RFC (potentially assist in spotting a lifter, explaining how to use equipment, etc.).
  • Monitor student conduct (according to Student Code of Conduct) 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly RFC environment. Periodically spot sweep and wipe down machines. 
  • Report any supply/equipment needs or student conduct issues to Student Recreation.
  • Assist Student Recreation when there are large campus events

The Game Room Attendant’s primary responsibilities include consistent monitoring of the Dempsey Student Center game room, proper check-in/check-out of the game room and the check-in/check-out of the drop-in intramural equipment. The ideal Game Room attendant should be organized, dependable, and personable.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:   

Primary Duties:   

  • Perform proper student check-in/out in the game room using Engage Software
  • Check-in/out of intramural equipment (volleyball, basketball, and soccer balls)
  • Monitor student conduct (according to Student Code of Conduct)
  • Assist with game room tournaments (including, but not limited to billiards, card tournaments, video game tournaments, etc.)

  • Report any supply/equipment needs or student conduct issues to Student Life

Job Summary   

The primary goal of this position is to aid and support the Hoke Center department, 6-8 hours per week. The student assistant will assist in a variety of office and customer service tasks such as answering phones, greeting and assisting customers, making copies, filing, data entry, and other duties as assigned. They are expected to actively promote the Hoke Center and its course offerings when assisting prospective students and the public. The ideal candidate would have strong organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, and be able to work independently to help cover and/or support the front desk staff when needed.

  • Assist with front desk duties as needed.
  • Provide customer service to students (active and prospective), community patrons, faculty, staff and external stakeholders to address various needs.

The ideal candidate would have strong organizational skills to help with filing and scanning and would be able to work independently to help cover the front desk associate when needed.

  • Answer incoming calls and assist visitors at the front desk.

Job Summary   

Under the direction of classroom teaching staff, the student assist with developing and providing early literacy activities to children at Sandhills Farm Life. The work-study student will also act to enhance self-esteem and confidence in the student through encouragement and positive reinforcement. The work-study student will also work to build a positive and supportive relationship that will engage and motivate students to work towards improvement of ability and effort in reading and literacy activities along with math skills.

Job Summary   

The primary goal of this position is to tutor students in areas of public speaking, professional communication, and other communication skills. The Speaking Lab Tutor will provide relevant tutoring services students in person, through email, and online using our virtual communication platform. This student would be expected to demonstrate quality communication skills and evidence-based techniques pursuant to effective tutoring and coaching. The ideal candidate would be able to work independently during tutoring sessions and cooperatively with fellow Speaking Lab staff.

Job Summary   

The primary goal of this position is to aid and support the Volleyball Coach. The Volleyball Student Assistant will help with various jobs such as laundry, computer work, filing, printing, scanning, etc. The ideal candidate will be a member of the Women’s Volleyball Team or someone that has High School playing experience. Must be able to work independently. 

Volleyball pre-season starts August 1st and runs year around.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:   

Primary Duties:   

  • Washing uniforms, drying, and putting back up in locker room
  • Inputting stats through NJCAA
  • Posting articles and pictures on the SCC Flyers Website 
  • Inputting camp information through Excel
  • Putting video on Hudl for breakdown
  • Working all home basketball games (nights and weekends) 
  • Helping with special events (banquet, pink out, tournaments, Hall of Fame, etc)
