The Telecommunications Office supports all campus phone services for faculty and staff and maintains the college switchboard. Our goal is to ensure you have reliable, easy-to-use communication tools that help you stay connected wherever you work.

Introducing the 3CX Campus Phone Upgrade

Sandhills Community College is upgrading its entire campus phone system to 3CX, a modern communications platform that connects new desk phones, computers, and mobile devices into one unified system.

As part of this upgrade, all users will receive a new Fanvil X5U desk phone. The X5U is the physical phone you’ll use in your office, while 3CX is the platform that powers it. Together, they allow you to make and receive calls from:

  • your desk phone (Fanvil X5U)

  • your computer using the 3CX web client

  • your smartphone using the 3CX mobile app

All three options use the same phone number and voicemail, giving you flexibility to stay connected whether you’re on campus, working remotely, or on the go.

This upgrade replaces our legacy phone system with a single, more reliable, and more flexible solution designed to support how our campus communicates today and in the future.
