Certified Production Technician Class Begins March 4 at Hoke Center

Local employers are in need of qualified workers for their production operations. Sandhills Community College has an opportunity to help potential employees gain credentials to qualify for these jobs through its Certified Production Technician training program. Employers recruit heavily from this program and tuition assistance is available to qualified students.

Designed to train students for high-paying, in-demand jobs in advanced manufacturing, “Certified Production Technician” is endorsed as a quality training program for entry-level employment by Unilever HPC and ITG Burlington in Raeford and Coty, Inc. in Sanford. Students learn manufacturing production systems and minor manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair as specified by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council. Students prepare to complete four MSSC certifications: Safety, Quality Practices and Measurement, Manufacturing Processes and Production, and Maintenance Awareness leading to the comprehensive CPT credential.

“Certified Production Technician” will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, March 4-Sept. 23 from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $185 plus $60 MSSC certification fee and $45 per certification (4 certifications) plus the cost of the text.
