Nursing student Faith Schofield’s advice to students is: “Don’t wait until the last minute to study. The sooner you start, the better off you’ll be.” This advice must work for Faith, as she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society this past November.
After working as a teacher for 18 years, Faith decided to return to school and study to become a nurse. It was something she has always wanted to do. After graduation, Faith hopes to work at First Health or one of the local medical offices.
She’s enjoyed all of her science classes, and says that the hands-on approach to learning has been invaluable.
Faith’s son is also enrolled at Sandhills, through the Sandhills Promise program, and the two have even managed to end up in a couple of classes together. “He keeps me on my toes, but I have managed to get better grades – so far.”
On top of attending Sandhills, Faith is a full-time homeschooling mom. When she gets a few moments of free time, she enjoys baking and cooking.More Posts
