2014 Rehearsal/Commencement Information
Candidates for May Graduation:
Congratulations on your upcoming achievement! Below you will find important information for the Sandhills Community College Commencement Ceremony to be held on May 17, 2014.
Rehearsal for the commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. on the Boyd Library Green. You are expected to attend. In case of inclement weather, Owens Auditorium will be used for rehearsal. Refreshments will be provided immediately following the rehearsal.
Weather permitting, the commencement ceremony will be held on the Sandhills Community College campus, Boyd Library Green at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014. If graduation is held on the Boyd Library Green, candidates are not limited to the number of guests that may attend the ceremony. Refreshments will be provided in the Dempsey Student Center immediately following commencement.
In the event of inclement weather, the commencement ceremony will be held in Owens Auditorium. You will receive two tickets in the mail for graduate guests in case of severe weather. These are the only guest tickets you will receive, so please keep them in a safe place and bring them with you to the graduation ceremony. Seating in Owens Auditorium is limited; therefore, the tickets do not guarantee seating. Seats will be issued on a first come first served basis to those with tickets. In the event of inclement weather, please visit our website at www.sandhills.edu or call (910) 695-3705 for information concerning contingency plans for the ceremony.
Fines and Outstanding Debts
All indebtedness to the college (e.g. parking fines, library fines, A.V. equipment, etc.) must be paid or satisfactorily adjusted before graduation.
A list of instructions is also posted for you to review before rehearsal and graduation. Please remember, all students who have submitted a 2014 graduation application are considered “candidates for graduation” and are able to participate in commencement activities. Walking across the stage does not mean you have graduated. You must complete all course requirements before receiving a diploma.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Sandhills Community College, we congratulate you on your academic accomplishments and look forward to seeing you at rehearsal!
