Are You Suited for Distance Learning?

Distance Learning is very flexible. These classes, which are available at any time of the day or night, are ideal, if you are employed or have family obligations that prevent you from taking a class on campus during regular hours. If you are serious about your education and need the flexibility this sort of delivery method offers, then you should consider a Distance Learning course.

You must be self-motivated and organized to be successful in a Distance Learning course. Even though you can participate in the class at any time of the day, there are still deadlines.

Distance Learning courses can be very reading intensive. Much of the material is presented in written form rather then the traditional classroom lecture.

Most classes require extensive typing. If you cannot use a keyboard very well, Distance Learning may be frustrating. We advise you brush up on your typing skills before attempting a class.

Distance Learning allows for a great deal of participation. Students tend to interact more, because they are less self-conscious and less subject to time pressures that can inhibit classroom discussion. You are able to receive a good deal of one-on-one contact with your instructor.

If you are not sure if you are suited for Distance Learning, please take our Distance Learning Pre-Test.
