Chuck Priest

Chuck Priest is a graduate of Union Pines High School and attended UNC-CH.

Priest worked a summer job on Cape Cod. This led to an apprenticeship with the chef.  He worked at the Cape during the summer and at a large hotel in Florida during the winter.

When he returned to the area for the autumn one year, he worked at the Country Club of NC for the season. He was offered a full-time job at the club, where he worked for six years. During his career, he worked at several clubs in the area: Pine Needles, Southern Pines Country Club, and Carolina Trace.

Priest was a partner in a local restaurant, Vito’s. He also opened a small restaurant in Carthage.

Priest managed food services at Sandhills Community College for 13 years. He left to work for Sysco, and after a few years, the college contacted him about returning.

The college’s students, faculty and staff immensely enjoy the quality of his food service. He and his staff prepare breakfast and lunch items second-to-none in the area. They are very much appreciated among those at Sandhills.
