Become a Palmer Scholar
In an ongoing commitment to provide Moore County students with the latest technological advancements in engineering, The Palmer Foundation, Sandhills Community College and Moore County Schools have partnered to create the Palmer Scholar Program.
The focus is to expose students to the fascinating and intriguing world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) integrating the Project Lead the Way curriculum and resources into our engineering curriculum.
Sandhills Community College will be the first NC community college to offer this type of program on its campus. Funding from the Palmer Foundation enabled Sandhills Community College to install a new high-tech lab to encourage students to explore STEM related fields. The classroom is equipped with the latest design software and cutting-edge equipment selected to introduce students to real-world challenges and opportunities in the areas of housing, healthcare, transportation, technology, energy, and the environment.
For information on registration and Accuplacer testing, contact Lauren Holland. Lauren will work with each student and the assigned school counselor to coordinate enrollment and course requirements.
