Free Children’s Program at Boyd Library

Children are invited to enjoy “Plant That Seed – Growing Young Minds” on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. until noon in the Barbara H. Cole Children’s Literature Center in the Boyd Library at Sandhills Community College.

The Library is partnering with Sandhills Farm to Table for this free event. The program will begin with books about seeds, fruits, veggies, bees, and honey. Farm to Table representatives will discuss growing foods and will bring samples of available foods. A local beekeeper will be present in his bee suit and have an observation hive for children to view. There will be crafts, fruit and vegetable bingo, take-away bags, a new book raffle, and a rainbow of food and honey for tasting.

Children of all ages are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To reserve a spot, RSVP with the child’s name and age to konoldm@sandhills.edu.
