The Kelly Tutoring Center

Sandhills Community College  is committed to the success of its diverse student population. The Kelly Tutoring Center offers various tutoring options to ensure that students get the help they need and are able to complete their educational goals.

All tutoring is free of charge to currently enrolled Sandhills students.   Our services include both face-to-face and online options utilizing trained, peer or professional tutors to help you achieve academic success.

Becoming a Tutor

The Kelly Tutoring Center encourages students and individuals in the community to become tutors. Many of the volunteer tutors are local retirees with a passion for a subject area or employment experience in a specific field.

Students who wish to become a tutor need a GPA of 3.0 or better, had at least a “B” in the course, and be referred by an instructor.

The first step in becoming a tutor is to complete a Sandhills Community College “Employment Application”.  Make sure to choose “Tutoring Center” from the Department drop down.  The Tutoring Center will then contact you.
