Purpose of Financial Aid
If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please note that the priority deadline for spring is December 13, 2013. All documents must be received in the Financial Aid Office by the priority date to ensure students’ financial aid files are reviewed by the tuition payment date. In addition to the FAFSA, students may be required to complete additional forms or submit IRS tax return transcripts/W2’s. Those forms are also included in the December 13th priority deadline. Completed applications received after the priority deadline will continue to be processed, but the Financial Aid Office cannot guarantee they will be reviewed prior to the beginning of the semester.
The primary purpose of financial aid is to provide financial resources to students who are otherwise unable to pursue post-secondary education. The Sandhills Community College Financial Aid Office will make every effort to meet the demonstrated needs of the students in an ethical and consistent manner.
Though it is felt that the primary responsibility for financing post-secondary education rests with the student and his/her family, every effort is made to provide necessary supplemental funding to ensure that no student is denied the opportunity to attend Sandhills Community College because of financial limitations.
Strict confidentiality is maintained in regard to all aspects of financial aid.
