The Mary Lea Dixon Entrepreneurship Award
The Mary Lea Dixon Entrepreneurship Award was established in 2009 to honor the contributions and leadership of Professor Mary L. Dixon in establishing the Sandhills Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
The Anthony E. “Tony” Parker Memorial Entrepreneurship Award
The Anthony E. “Tony” Parker Memorial Entrepreneurship Award was established by the Parker family in 2011. This award celebrates the memory of Tony Parker, a Moore County native, businessman, historian and local icon.
For both awards successful applicants will be currently enrolled in or are a recent graduate in the Entrepreneurship Certificate Program and/or Entrepreneurship Mentorship Program and demonstrate the dream; eagerness to learn; perseverance and accomplishments that hallmark entrepreneurial success in addition to demonstrated exemplary character.
For the Anthony E. “Tony” Parker Award, preference is given to Moore County natives. Please be sure to note on your application if you were born and/or raised in Moore County.
Award winners are designated by the Sandhills Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Advisory Board.
For consideration, applicants will submit a complete award package to Sarah Bumgarner, Entrepreneurship Program Liaison.
A complete award package includes:
- Completed application
- Current resume
- An applicant letter describing how you demonstrate the criteria and intent of the award and must include business vision and where you are in the development process
- A letter of recommendation from an SCC faculty or staff member who is familiar with the quality of your work
- A letter of recommendation from a community member familiar with your plans
