Health Sciences Admissions Information
Thank you for your interest in the Sandhills Community College Health Sciences programs!‚ Please read more about our programs by following the links on the left.‚ All applicants for any Health Science program MUST attend an information session.‚ Sessions are held in Kennedy Hall Room 148 at 11:00 AM on the following dates:

|Health Science online application must be submitted by the last Friday in January.||Health Sciences online application must be submitted by the last Friday in April.|
|All prerequisite courses must be completed. (See below)||All prerequisites must be completed, or will be complete by the end of spring semester. (See below)|
|The HESI A2 exam must be taken with 75+ cumulative score. (See below)||The HESI A2 exam must be taken. Students with scores less than 75 may apply at this time. (See below)|
|Students will receive a letter informing them of acceptance within 30 days of the early consideration deadline.||Students will receive a letter informing them of acceptance within 30 days of the late consideration deadline.|
Prerequisite classes must be completed with a C or better.‚ All Health Sciences programs require the following:
- Test into ENG 111, or complete any necessary DMA or DRE‚ courses.
If you have completed or received transfer credit for ENG 111, you have met this requirement.
- Test out of or complete math modules DMA 010 through DMA 050 OR have credit for MAT 060 and MAT 070.
*EMS requires only DMA 010-030.If you have completed any of the following MAT courses, you have met this requirement: MAT 080, MAT 140, MAT 143, MAT 151, MAT 152, MAT 161, MAT 171+.
- Complete science prerequisites as required by the program.‚ Prerequisites can be either high school or college courses.‚ There is no time limit on courses you have previously taken.
- Take the HESI A2 exam.
All applicants must achieve at least a 75 cumulative score in order to apply to any health science program in early consideration.*EMS does not require the HESI A2 exam.

Students who are offered seats in a Health Science program must complete additional requirements prior to beginning program courses.‚ Specific dates and details will be communicated in your acceptance letter.
- Attend a mandatory program information session.
- Complete a drug screening and background check.
- Attend the program orientation.
