Youth Summer Camps at Sandhills Community College

Kids Camp 18Parents can help their kids make the most of the summer by registering them into one or more of the new youth enrichment opportunities at Sandhills Community College. Students will be able to explore one of the premier community college campuses in the state while participating in a wide range of programs from sports to technology.
These fun, safe and high-quality programs are offered through the Athletic and the Continuing Education Division. Registration has begun and classes have a limit on number of participants.
Athletics Camps
Athletics will include volleyball for girl’s grades 1-5, 6-8 and 9-12, and boy’s and girl’s basketball for rising 3-9 grades. All information can be found and registration can be carried out at
College for Kids
For the enrichment programs offered through Continuing Education, students ages 8-14  can choose from topics including app and video game design, cooking, visual arts, safety, drama, theater, and equestrian.
New this summer, SCC is offering a public safety class for kids. In this week-long experience provided in partnership with Pinehurst Rotary, learn about careers in public safety areas including fire, law enforcement, and emergency medical services. Campers will also learn tips to keep themselves safe in harmful situations. Interested applicants should contact Amy Caliri, 910-695-3998 or, to register for this camp. 
Children will test their flying skills at our new hands-on drone camp. They will learn to fly drones with precision through obstacle courses and finish the camp with a competition.
If your child loves to play video games or enjoy new apps, then they will love the Black Rocket Technology classes. These engaging programs will have your kids creating apps and designing video games with high tech, interactive software only available at Sandhills Community College. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about virtual reality and coding.
For your young artist or inspiring drama & theater fan, Sandhills has partnered with the Arts Council of Moore County to offer a full line-up of visual arts, piano, drama and theater classes that will inspire young artists to bring out their personal best.
For horse lovers, Sandhills has partnered with an outstanding riding facility to provide hours of equestrian fun.
And for those who like to spend their time in the kitchen, Sandhills has whipped up a large variety of culinary courses for kids. From homemade pizzas and lasagna to Harry Potter and Star Wars inspired desserts, students will enjoy sweet and savory quality time in the kitchen with Chef Angela Webb and Chef Erin Ducker. Children 11 and under must have a parent or guardian attend these classes as a registered participant. Children 12 and over may attend solo.

Credit card payments accepted over the phone and cash, check, credit cards and money orders accepted in person in the Continuing Education registration office located on the first floor of Van Dusen Hall.
