Welding Essentials Class to Begin at SCC in January

Welder, welding in a car factory

Start training for your career in welding. The Advanced Manufacturing department at Sandhills Community College offers high-tech, in-demand career training through state-of-the-art equipment designed to meet the growing demand for skilled workers. Through partnerships with local employers, this program aligns class offerings and curriculums to provide employers a pipeline of skilled workers with job-specific skills. These programs do not take an extended period to complete, and many students have employment lined up before graduation. We even offer job placement assistance and career coaching.

“Welding Essentials” will focus on the essentials used in basic MIG and Stick Welding and is designed to train students for the basic welding skills and techniques including safety, metal cutting and fitting, and welding skills using generally recognized industry processes.

“Welding Essentials” will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 6-June 29 from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $185 plus $100 for materials.

There may be funds available to help students pay for Continuing Education courses. Contact Jason Levister at (910) 695-3778 or levisterj@sandhills.edu, or Amanda Rovetta at (910) 695-3766 or rovettaa@sandhills.edu to learn more about SCC Continuing Education scholarships.
