SCC Fire Academy

Fire Academy 

Do you enjoy helping people and making a difference in your community? Sandhills Fire Academy prepares you to become a competent, confident and fully prepared fire service provider. The Academy focuses on an intense hands-on approach to firefighting at our public safety training center campus. You will receive training and instruction that promotes both skill competency and understanding of the fireground. The program incorporates EMT-Basic and prepares students to sit for the state certification exam.

Print and complete the Fire Academy Application Packet or pick up a paper copy in Van Dusen Hall. Tuition is free for current Volunteer Firefighters.

High School Firefighter Academy 

Offered in Hoke and Moore Counties. 
This one-year program will prepare high school students to take the NC Department of Insurance and Fire and Rescue Commission Firefighter Certification Exam.

Upon successfully completing this Continuing Education course, students can apply the credits toward the Associate in Applied Science in Fire Protection Technology degree. 
High school students are to contact their high school advisor for enrollment information.
