AUTOMOTIVE
Auto Safety Inspection
Successful completion certifies students to inspect motor vehicles under the NC Motor Vehicles Safety Inspection Law.
The prerequisite for this class is a valid driver’s license.

CDL Truck Driver Training
This 10-week training program offers an extensive curriculum encompassing classroom instruction, hands-on range driving, and on-road driving experience. It is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to obtain a Commercial Driver's Permit and Class A License endorsements. The registration fee covers a DOT physical examination, DOT drug test, textbooks, and student fees, ensuring a comprehensive and all-inclusive training experience. Escort Vehicle Operator
This course meets the training requirements set by the NC Department of Transportation to certify oversize-overweight load escort vehicle drivers. Students must have a valid driver’s license without restrictions other than use of corrective lens, must not have a DWI or reckless driving within the previous 12 months, and must be 21-years of age (can be 18 with a Class A commercial driver’s license). All initial applicants must complete a 2- or 4-hour defensive driving course that has been approved by the National Safety Council.
OBD Emissions Control Inspection
This class certifies students to inspect motor vehicles under the NC Motor Vehicles
OBD Emissions Control Inspection Law.
The prerequisite for this class is “Certified Auto Safety Inspection.” This is also
a Recertification Class.
Vehicle Dealers’ Continuing Education
Required of all non-franchise vehicle dealers in NC. Class will include updates of NC general statutes and DMV policies and procedures.

AVIATION
FAA Remote Drone Pilot Certification
Prepare for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification exam. Topics include flight theory, flight operations, flight training, national air space, and weather. This class uses the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot-Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide, North Carolina Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator Permit Knowledge Test Study Guide, and North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Division of Aviation UAS flight standards best practices. Upon completion, students will be prepared to sit for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Knowledge Test and NCDOT UAS Operator Permit. Insurance Pre-Licensing
SCC offers a variety of insurance pre-licensing courses that include Life, Health, Medicare Supplement/Long term care, Property, Casualty, Personal Lines, and Adjuster. Students interested in taking insurance pre-licensing courses can choose from two online delivery options: Synchronous or Asynchronous classes. Notary Public
h is course is required for anyone interested in becoming a Notary Public for the
fi rst time. It is recommended for all notaries as a refresher course. Note: Th e
current edition of Th e Notary Public Manual for North Carolina, March 2016, ISBN:
978-1-56011-851-0, is required for admittance to the class. It is strongly recommended
that you study the guidebook prior to class attendance to be better prepared for the
state examination given at the end of the class. NCGS 10B-5(b) provides the following
requirements to be commissioned as a Notary Public in NC: 1) Be at least 18 years
of age or legally emancipated as defi ned in Article 35 of Chapter 7B of the General
Statutes; 2) Reside or have a regular place of work or business in this State; 3)
Reside legally in the United States; 4) Speak, read, and write the English language;
5) Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; 6) Pass the course of instruction
described in this Article, unless the person is a licensed member of the North Carolina
State Bar; 7) Purchase and keep as a reference the most recent manual approved by
the Secretary that describes the duties and authority of notaries public; 8) Submit
an application containing no signifi cant misstatement or omission of fact.
Students must provide current state or federal picture identification for admission to class. An active duty military and civilian ID cards DO NOT meet identification requirement.

Prerequisite: Work Keys Reading and Math, Level 4 or higher or verification of a post-secondary degree. This class provides an intensive review of topics and prepares the student for the NC Broker licensing examination. USGA Greenkeeper Apprenticeship Program – Golf Course Technician Level 1
This new one-year program will combine classroom instruction with
on-the-job training. Students will earn while they learn the skills to be a greenkeeper,
each apprentice will be a full-time employee of a local golf course, or you can just
take the classroom portion to see if this is a career you want to pursue. You will
need to complete both levels 1 & 2 to complete the program and earn the certificate.
Topics will include Turfgrass, Soils & Fertility, Pest & Water Management, Rules of
