Tune Up Your Career Skills in August

Businesspeople shaking hands. Make it a goal to improve your career skills before the summer ends. The Continuing Education Career Development department’s goal is to assist students in assessing interests, personality traits, and abilities in setting career and educational goals, and in creating a pathway that will lead to economic, social, and educational success.

Two classes in the Revamp Your Career Series will be offered in August: Resumes and Cover Letters and Budgeting 101: Smart Money Decisions. Create or update your résumé, learning to customize it for different jobs. We will show you how to sell yourself and stand out from other applicants in an interview. You can also learn to deal with the stress of long-term unemployment and how to use your age as an asset in your job search. Call Pamela Alsobrook at (910) 944-7697 for more information and to register.

“Resumes and Cover Letters” will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 9-10:30 a.m. “Budgeting 101: Smart Money Decisions” will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the NCWorks Career Center on Shepard Trail in Aberdeen. The class fee of $75 is waived for qualified students.
