Bring your tech skills into 2022 with help from Sandhills Community College Continuing Education’s Technology division. This January, continue your knowledge of the Windows 10 system and YouTube, or work your way towards CompTIA A+ Certification.
In “Windows 10-Level 2,” students will discover how to use the Action Center and the All-Settings screen, how to customize your Desktop, set up, and use virtual desktops, creating folders for basic file management, and how to use File Explorer. A brief introduction to email and the Windows Store will be covered, as well as how to update Windows 10 and keep it safe. The prerequisite for this class is Windows 10 Level 1 or prior experience.
Held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 11-Feb. 17 from 6-8 p.m., “Windows 10-Level 2” will cost $75, plus the cost of a flash drive.
In “You Too Can YouTube” students will learn video production, promotion, procedures, and goal setting. Held on Fridays, Jan. 14-Feb. 18 from 2-4 p.m., “You Too Can YouTube” will cost $75.
IT Credentials and Cyber Security
In “CompTIA A+ Certification,” students will become better prepared to troubleshoot and problem solve. Better understand a wide variety of issues ranging from networking and operating systems to mobile devices and security. Build the skills and knowledge to advance from A+ to Network+, and then to Security+ to complete the entire track and obtain these valuable credentials. Each course also counts toward DoD 8570 Information Assurance qualifications. Scholarships are available for this class.
Held Tuesday-Thursday, Jan. 11-April 21 online from 6-9 p.m., “CompTIA A+ Certification” will cost $185 plus the cost of courseware. Financial aid and scholarships are available for this class. Visit sandhills.edu/available-funds-for-your-training for information and to apply.
Seats are still available for these classes. To register, call Continuing Education at (910) 695-3980 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. All major credit cards are accepted. Pre-register at sandhills.edu/cereg. Pre-registrations must be made two days before class starts.
Curriculum classes will begin on January 10. In addition to the traditional 16-week semester, there will be two eight-week sessions, one beginning January 10 and the second March 14. Students can take a mix of full-semester classes alongside eight-week sessions. Continuing Education classes begin throughout the semester.
New students to Sandhills who wish to take curriculum (college credit) classes will be awarded one free class for the spring semester. This a $311 value.
A free health care plan will also be provided to all curriculum students. This is a $120 value. Students are to submit their application form through E-Forms (Student-Care-on-the-Go form). This special offer is not available to CCP students.

CCP Classes for High School Students
