  • Scholarships and Grants
    • Funds are provided through federal, state and private funds to assist in college related expenses
  • Childcare Grants to assist
    • A limited number of child-care subsidies are available to economically disadvantaged students through institutional and state funded grants
  • Emergency student assistance
    • Assistance for students at risk of dropping out of college due to financial hardships
  • Work study program
    • provides jobs for students who need additional financial aid while providing an opportunity to gain valuable work experience.
  • Transportation
    • Assistance with funding for public transportation to and from the college

  • Student life
    • The office of Student Life supports extra-curricular programming designed to supplement your courses. Academic clubs, civic and social clubs and organizations, intramural sports, leadership development and other student activities are available.
  • SCC gardens
    • 32 acres offering a variety of gardens and the natural environment of the North Carolina Sandhills
  • Career Center
    • The Career Center advises prospective students, current students, and alumni by implementing career planning, offering career assessments, and life-long career plans
  • Counseling Center
    • Our licensed professional counselors are available to help you with academic, personal, mental or social issues that may be interfering with your academic success
  • Russell Fitness Center
    • The Russell Fitness Center is located upstairs in Dempsey Student Center and is for the use of current students and the faculty and staff of the college.
  • Financial literacy
    • Sandhills Community College wants to ensure that all students have access to information and resources regarding personal finance, how to manage debt and tax preparation services (via 3rd party)
  • Quiet rooms
    • Quiet rooms are provided on campus for a safe place for nursing, prayer and de-stressing

  • Computer labs
    • Located across campus for students to type and print papers, work on computerized database and spreadsheet assignments, create resumes, polish basic computer skills, practice keyboarding, and discover Internet resources
  • Tutoring
    • The Kelly Tutoring Center offers various tutoring options to ensure that students get the help they need and are able to complete their educational goals
  • Drop-in labs
    • English and math drop-in labs are provided on campus and are dedicated to helping students succeed in their courses
  • Disability Services
    • Some of the services we are able to provide are: sign language interpreters, note takers, scribes, readers, and books on tape (when available). We can make testing accommodations or referrals regarding specific disability-related concerns (personal, educational, or career)
  • Katharine L. Boyd Library
    • The purpose of the Katharine L. Boyd Library and the Peteris to support the college mission to “provide comprehensive student and academic support programs that help students meet their academic and personal goals” and “to provide opportunities for student involvement, cultural enrichment, life-long learning, and community service while honoring its core values”

    • Academic advisors and success coaches to assist students in pursuing educational and career goals
