Advising/Class Registration

During registration periods, those who have applied or current or returning students can register online through Self-Service or e-mail your assigned faculty advisor (found in Self-Service) to schedule a virtual or in-person appointment to plan and schedule your classes for the next semester.

GEAR UP

Sandhills Community College is one of the eight North Carolina colleges and community colleges chosen for the GEAR UP program. Through the program, a Success Coach partners with students from 36 select high schools and assists them with preparation for college and guides them as they strive to reach college goals.

Change of Major

You can complete the Change of Major form at Student eForms.

Dropping Classes

If you need to drop a class, you can email the instructor of the class to let them know that you wish to drop. Your instructor email address can be found in the Campus Directory or on your courses’ Moodle page. Prior to dropping a course, we highly recommend that you speak with your instructor, advisor and a financial aid representative.

Once you have talked with your instructor and with a financial aid counselor and have decided to move forward with dropping the course, you can submit the “Course Change Form” through Student eForms.

Address Change

Submit the “Address and Name Form” through Student eForms.

Transcript Request

Sandhills Community College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript to be ordered via the internet. Our official transcripts are processed electronically through this service. Requests can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using any major credit card.

Tutoring

Sandhills offers free tutoring in the Kelly Tutoring Center in 119 Logan Hall and online for those who can’t come on campus. Please come by the Tutoring Center during regular office areas or phone 910.246.4138

Complete the “Request A Tutor” form and email it to russells@sandhills.edu.

Sandhills also has a Writing Lab, a Speaking Lab and a Math Lab.

Disability Services

In college, students must request disability services. They must self-identify to the Office of Disability Services (ODS) as having a disability and present appropriate documentation. Students must contact the office at the beginning of every semester that they wish to receive accommodations.

Personal Counseling

Our counselors are available to help you with academic, personal, mental, or social issues that may be interfering with your academic success. These trained professionals can respond to your concerns in an objective and nonjudgmental manner.

Student Records

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) prevents others from gaining access to college student records without written consent  If you would like to request that a third-party have access to all or part of your student record at Sandhills, complete the FERPA Release Form and email it from your student email account to Jennifer Fields at ferpa@sandhills.edu.
