Five photography classes, a class in 3D printing, and a class in Windows 10 will be offered at Sandhills Community College through the division of Continuing Education this summer. These classes are a great way to have fun and make new friends while learning how to use cameras, technical equipment, and computers.
Purchasing a new camera can be a confusing process. DSLRs, crossovers, point and shoots, mirrorless, megapixels, features, and budget, are all important considerations. Laura Gingerich will help you become a more educated consumer and lead you to confidence in your decision. “Which Digital Camera Should I Purchase?” will be held on Friday, June 7, from 2-4 p.m. The cost is $50.
“Photography Bootcamp” will help you to say goodbye to using automatic and learn the fundamentals that will enable you to become comfortable with the dials, modes, and menus on your camera. “Photography Bootcamp” will be held on Wednesday, June 19, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost is $75. The class will set aside time to practice and create beautiful images. You will experience the best results if your camera is less than five years old.
Laura Gingerich will help you learn more about shutter speed, aperture, and ISO and help you learn how to shoot on manual mode in this hands-on workshop. She will also help you understand the basics of photographic composition. “Understanding the Exposure Triangle” will be held on Friday, June 21, from 9 a.m.-Noon. The cost is $75.
Understanding the fundamentals of composition can dramatically improve your photographs. You will also learn to frame pictures, create twirl effects, push a photo through text, add texture, and make a photo look like a painting.
