November Brings a Variety of Technology Classes to SCC

Tech TrainingWhatever your stage in computer use, your classmates will be right there with you in Sandhills Community College Continuing Education Technology Classes. Have fun, make new friends and learn how to use computers and computer software.
Microsoft Office Fast Courses
“Access Levels 1, 2 & 3 Fast Course” will teach students hands-on concepts to create tables, work with forms, query databases, and more. The second half of the class provides students with an in-depth look at table design, input forms, complex queries and report customization.
“Access Levels 1, 2 & 3 Fast Course” will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 7-21. There will be two sessions from which to choose. The first from 1-4 p.m. and the second from 5-8 pm. The cost is $75 plus the cost of the text.
Windows Operating System
“Windows 10 Level 3” will quickly review the basics and continue with a deeper look into Windows 10. The Ribbon will be explored along with other applications. This class is designed to promote better productivity skills. The prerequisite for this class is Windows 10 Level 2 or prior experience. A flash drive 8GB or larger is required.
“Windows 10 Level 3” will be held Mondays, and Thursdays, Nov. 16-Dec. 14 from 9-11 a.m. The cost is $75.
Apple Macintosh Operating System and iPad
“iPad Level 3” is a course that completes the iPad Series. As in previous courses, the objective is to provide instruction on the iPad Operations System and it’s Mac Apps. This course reviews key concepts and further develops Mac apps and as time permits, exploring useful third-party apps. The prerequisite for the class is iPad 2 and each student must bring an iPad or iPhone.
“iPad Level 3” will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, Nov. 15-Dec. 13 from 10-Noon. The cost is $75.
“OS X Sierra Level 3” begins with a brief review of Mac OS Apps discussed in Level 2. The objective of this course is to discuss more OS Apps that were not developed previously. In addition, the class discusses and compares the similarity of app features found on the iPhone, iPad and the Mac Computer. Students are encouraged to bring their laptops and iPads and iPhone to class. The prerequisite for this class is Sierra Level 2 or a) prior experience or b) a waiver by instructor or Lori Degre.
“OS X Sierra Level 3” will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from Nov. 15-Dec. 13 from 1-3 p.m. The cost is $75.

Seats are still available for these classes. To register in person, stop by the Sandhills Community College Continuing Education office located on the first floor of Van Dusen Hall. You may also register by phone with a credit card at (910) 695-3980. Registration hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
