Nursing – RIBN: Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses
Sandhills welcomed our first RIBN cohort in 2014. RIBN is a partnership between Sandhills Community College and UNC Pembroke consisting of a four-year pathway for students to achieve a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) at the beginning of their nursing careers. This program offers an affordable and accessible option for obtaining a baccalaureate degree while remaining close to home; a longer career with increased earnings and career options; and increased educational opportunities for graduate education at the masters and doctoral levels.
Deadline to Apply
The priority deadline for students wishing to enter the Fall 2020 cohort is February 1, 2020.
The RIBN curriculum is highly structured and rigorous. Because of this, ideal RIBN candidates are high school seniors or students who have taken fewer than 15 credits of college coursework. Additionally, candidates are encouraged to complete Nurse Aide I while in high school.
Current college students may be able to apply if all Year One classes can be completed prior to beginning the ADN program; students should speak with their Nursing advisor about their eligibility.
