Revamp your career with help from the Career Development division at Sandhills Community College in March. The goal is to assist students in assessing interests, personality traits, and abilities in setting career and educational goals, and in creating a pathway that will lead to economic, social, and educational success.
Realize a career with the Department of Social Services as an Income Maintenance Worker in “Become a DSS/Caseworker/Learn NC Fast.” Acquire the skills required to be successful in an entry-level position. WorkKeys assessments (a prerequisite for Phase II) are administered in this class to prepare you for the next Phase of this program – Income Maintenance Caseworker. This class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 19-May 14 from 6-9 p.m. There is an assessment fee of $45 and the cost of $130 is waived for qualified students.
In “Working Smart – The Only NC Soft Skill Credential” sessions will include: Gain Your Competitive Edge, Learn the Secret to Unlock Workplace Communication, Be, More Effective in the Workplace, Get Noticed by Your Employer, and Climb the Ladder to Success. This class will be held Monday-Thursday, March 18-21 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost of $75 is waived for qualified students.
Register in the Sandhills Community College Continuing Education office located on the first floor of Van Dusen Hall on the Pinehurst campus at 3395 Airport Road. Registration by phone with a credit card can be made by calling (910) 695-3980. Registration hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. until noon.
