Local Artists Lisa Richman and Dean Segovis Exhibit at the Hastings Gallery

Two people installing an art exhibit.Local artists Lisa Richman and Dean Segovis are exhibiting inventive installations and sculptures using recycled and found objects. Entitled “Recycled Renaissance,” the exhibit will run September 14 through November 19 in the Hastings Gallery in the Boyd Library on the Sandhills Community College Campus.

The gallery is open Mondays through Thursdays from 7:45 a.m. until 6 p.m., Fridays from 7:45 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Art Education at SCC

Painting and ceramic classes are offered each semester through Continuing Education and our curriculum art classes are also open to all. The college offers an Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Art degree. This degree is designed for students who wish to transfer to one of the UNC Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) in Visual Arts programs or a private college or university.

Fall Semester Eight-Week Session

An eight-week session of fall semester curriculum classes begins on October 14. Offered online and in hybrid class formats, classes take only eight weeks to complete and award full credits. These classes are for new, returning, and current students. For all information, go to www.sandhills.edu/eight.

Spring Semester

Curriculum classes will begin on January 10. In addition to the traditional 16-week semester, there will be two eight-week sessions, one beginning January 16 and the second March 14. Students can take a mix of full-semester classes alongside eight-week sessions.

Continuing Education classes begin throughout the semester.

A spring semester SCC flightPath publication will be mailed to all Moore and Hoke County homes and posted to the college’s website in early December. It will contain information about all curriculum programs and the Continuing Education classes set to begin January through May.
