Whatever your stage in computer use, your classmates will be right there with you in Sandhills Community College Continuing Education Technology Classes. Have fun, make new friends and learn how to use computers and computer software.
“Introduction to 3D Printing” is for those new to 3D printing. Students will create 3D image files using the TinkerCAD 3D design and printing app. After file creation, objects are printed. Participants will attend two Saturday classes to print objects. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the history, terminology and types of 3D Printing technology as well as demonstrate an ability to create and print a simple project.
“Introduction to 3D Printing” will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 22-Feb. 14 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 9 and 16 from 8 a.m.-Noon. The cost is $75.
In “Microsoft Office Overview,” students will learn a little of everything that Microsoft Office offers in six sessions: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher, and One Note.
“Microsoft Office Overview” will be held on Thursdays, Jan. 24-Feb 28 from 1-4 p.m. The cost is $75.
In “Outlook” students will learn essential tools of Outlook and organization by working with email, contacts, folders, calendars, notes, tasks, and mobile device integration.
“Outlook” will be held on Fridays, Jan. 18-March 8 from 9 a.m.-Noon. The cost is $75 plus the cost of the text.
Windows Operating System
Master the Windows 10 operating system in “Windows 10 Level 1.” Discover Windows applications, terminology, and Start Menu functions as well as operational basics. Students should have access to the Windows 10 operating system.
“Windows 10 Level 1” will be held on Mondays and Thursdays, Jan. 28-March 7 from 9-11 a.m. The cost is $75 plus the cost of the text.
Apple Macintosh Operating System
In “OS Mojave Level 1,” explore, understand and control the operating system of the Apple Macintosh computer including numerous built-in applications (Apps). Learn to manage the filing system for organizing and finding computer generated folders and files. A flash drive 8 GB or larger is required.

Podcasts are not necessarily a new medium, but have taken off in popularity and listenership in recent years. Today they are being used to convey personal passions, causes, stories (both fact and fiction), and helping to grow brand awareness and sales prospects in a scalable, low-cost way.

Learn how podcasting will not only help you grow your brand (personal brand or business) but help develop trusting relationships with your audience in “Podcasting for Business.”“Podcasting for Business” will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $75.
Unleash your inner photographer in “Photography Bootcamp.” Say goodbye to “Auto” and learn the fundamentals of photography. Dive in and get comfortable with all the dials, modes, and menus on the camera. The afternoon is set aside to practice and create beautiful images. You will experience best results if your camera is less than five years old.
“Photography Bootcamp” will be held on Friday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost is $75.
Take your photography to the next level by understanding Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO. Learn how to shoot on manual mode in this easy-going, hands-on workshop “Understanding the Exposure Triangle.” Produce images with the “WOW” factor using the basics of composition.
“Understanding the Exposure Triangle” will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 1-5 p.m. The cost is $75.
Learn about the fundamentals of composition in “The Art of Seeing.” Students will learn the difference between a mediocre shot and an award winning photograph by studying the elements of design. Discussion, lecture, field work, and critique session are included.
“The Art of Seeing” will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24 from 1-5 p.m. The cost is $75.
Uncover what’s new in Elements 15 in “Photo Editing Using Photoshop Elements 15 for Beginners.” Create catalogs and albums, import and organize photos, perform basic editing in the Organizer, as well as how to use the Editor’s Quick and Guided modes. Time permitting you will also learn the basics of using layers for combining and correcting photos, and adding text and graphics. A flash drive 8GB or larger is recommended. Prerequisite: a good working knowledge of computers, using a mouse or pen tablet, and file management.
