Micro Gardening: Food Farming in Containers & Small Urban Spaces!

$15 – $25Kathy Byron, Director of Good Food Sandhills, will show you the ways to manage veggie garden challenges by growing food in small spaces, using less time and effort while still achieving a lot. At this workshop discover the basics of vegetable gardening, how to maximize small spaces using permaculture principles, and the simplicity of incorporating art into the aesthetics of the micro garden. To jump start your micro garden you will take away a grow bag planted with seed for potatoes and create an herb Softpot as Art in the Garden! Horticultural Society members $15, non-members $25. Registration required and class size limited to 24. Participants should bring a 5-gallon bucket, hand shovel, apron, and gloves.
