Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)

Certified Medical Administrative Assistants are valuable members of the healthcare team who can handle a broad range of du-ties including patient registration, telephone, scheduling, medical records, accounts receiv-able, data entry, and medical claims. Upon completion students will be prepared for the CMAA national certification exam offered by the National Heathcareer Association.

 Certified Production Technician

Learn the skills needed for a high-paying, in-demand job in Advanced Manufacturing! Students learn manufacturing production systems and minor manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair as specified by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) and prepare to complete four MSSC certifications in Safety, Quality Practices & Measurement, Manufacturing Processes & Production, and Maintenance Awareness. 

Students who successfully complete the CPT program may be eligible for curriculum credit toward an Associate in Applied Science in Industrial Systems Technology degree. 

Program endorsed by Unilever, Raeford as a quality training program for potential entry-level employment. 

EKG Technician 

Learn the required skills to become a certi-fied EKG Technician and work in a variety of health care settings. Topics include cardiac anatomy and physiology, cardiac cycle, EKG strip analysis, 12 lead EKG, and EKG procedures. 

Firefighter Academy

The Firefighter Academy offers firefighter certification classes to progress students to-ward earning a NC Firefighter Certification. Students will master skills through classroom instruction and extensive hands-on training that will prepare them for a career in public safety. 

Firefighter Academy also provides students with a pathway to an Associate in Applied Sci-ence Degree in Fire Science or associated SCC certificate, diploma or program, offered at Sandhills Community College. Upon com-pletion of the NC Firefighter Certification, students may apply and be considered for curriculum credit towards the Fire Science Degree. 

Attendance is required to complete each cer-tification piece. Students enrolled in the Fire-fighter pathway must be 16 years of age or older by the first day of class. 

Eligible Students
(Hoke County)

1) Must be a Junior or Senior (Seniors receive priority enrollment). 

2) Must have a weighted GPA of 3.0 on high school courses or have the recommendation of high school principal or his/her designee. 

3) Must continue to make progress toward high school graduation.
