Put a spring in your step with these Career Development classes starting this April. The Sandhills Community College Continuing Education Career Development department’s goal is to assist students in assessing interests, personality traits, and abilities in setting career and educational goals, and in creating a pathway that will lead to economic, social, and educational success.
Two classes in the Revamp Your Career Series will be offered in April: “Budgeting 101” and “Work Attitudes and Behaviors.” Participants will match their skills with an existing job or develop a training plan to learn new skills, explore career opportunities, and develop a written plan of action. Students will learn to sell themselves and stand out from other applicants in an interview. Finally, students will learn how to deal with the stress of long-term unemployment and how to use their age as an asset in their job search. Call Pamela Alsobrook at (910) 944-7697 for more information and to register.
“Budgeting 101” will be held on Wednesday, April 8 from 9-10:30 a.m. “Work Attitudes and Behaviors” will be held on Wednesday, April 22 from 9-10:30 a.m. Classes will be held at the NCWorks Career Center on Shepard Trail in Aberdeen. The class fee of $75 is waived for qualified students.
