Students will learn how to fine-tune their computer skills in “Upgrade Your Computer Skills.” Students will engage in hands-on learning based on their individual needs whether they are a beginner or a savvy computer user. Assistance with job searches, preparing cover letters, creating résumés or completing an online application will be provided.

“Upgrade Your Computer Skills” will be held on Mondays, Jan. 6-Feb. 24 from noon-2 p.m. The fee of $75 is waived for qualified students.

Two classes in the Revamp Your Career Series will be offered in January: “Resumes and Cover Letters,” and “Budgeting 101.” Participants will match their skills with an existing job or develop a training plan to learn new skills, explore career opportunities, and develop a written plan of action. Students will learn to sell themselves and stand out from other applicants in an interview. Finally, students will learn how to deal with the stress of long-term unemployment and how to use their age as an asset in their job search. Call Pamela Alsobrook at (910) 944-7697 for more information and to register.

“Resumes and Cover Letters” will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8 from 9-11 a.m. “Budgeting 101” will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 9-10:30 a.m. Both classes will be held at the NCWorks Career Center on Shepard Trail in Aberdeen. The class fee of $75 is waived for qualified students.
