The Kelly Tutoring Center

Our free online and traditional tutoring services are available for your academic success.  To start the process of working with a tutor, complete the “Request A Tutor” form and either email it to or drop it off in 115 Logan Hall if you are on campus.

Don’t feel you shouldn’t take advantage of this opportunity to get the most from your experience at SCC!

Sandhills Community College  is committed to the success of its diverse student population. The Kelly Tutoring Center offers various tutoring options to ensure that students get the help they need and are able to complete their educational goals.

All tutoring is free of charge to currently enrolled Sandhills students.   Our services under normal circumstances include both face-to-face and online options utilizing trained, peer or professional tutors to help you achieve academic success.

Obtaining a Tutor

Complete the “Request A Tutor” form and email it to or bring it to 115 Logan Hall.  The Tutoring Center staff will then work to match you with a tutor.

Becoming a Tutor

The Kelly Tutoring Center encourages students and individuals in the community to become tutors. Many of the volunteer tutors are local retirees with a passion for a subject area or employment experience in a specific field.

Students who wish to become a tutor need a GPA of 3.0 or better, had at least a “B” in the course, and be referred by an instructor.

The first step in becoming a tutor is to complete a Sandhills Community College “Employment Application”.  Make sure to choose “Tutoring Center” from the Department drop down.  The Tutoring Center will then contact you.
