Returning Degree-Seeking Students

1) View our programs

Sandhills may have updated our program offerings since the last time you were enrolled.  Be sure to view our current degree, diploma, and certificate programs before reapplying to the college

2) Reapply to Sandhills

If you had a break in enrollment that exceeds 15 months, complete the online application. As part of the application process, you must complete your online residency interview before your application will be submitted

3) Submit your transcripts

If you previously submitted official high school and college transcript to SCC, you may not have to resubmit the documents.  Call Admissions at 910-695-3725

If you attended another college since SCC, you will need to submit an official transcript from each school attended

Official transcripts must be submitted via fax, email, or in a sealed envelope sent directly from the issuing school to SCC.

(Placement into college-level courses is determined by the evaluation of the transcript(s) that you submit.)

Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your eligibility for financial aid.

Apply for scholarships

If you are interested in applying for a Sandhills Scholarship, to include the Sandhills Promise, you will need to complete our scholarship application.

Apply for VA benefits

If you are planning to use your VA education benefits at SCC, visit our VA webpage for helpful enrollment steps.

5) Attend orientation & register for classes

You are required to attend orientation prior to registering for classes. For the foreseeable future, Sandhills Community College will only offer orientation sessions online.

How to complete new student orientation and register for classes:

Step 1 – Set up your Sandhills student account (sandhills.edu>MySCC>Password management).

Step 2 – Log into Moodle on your assigned orientation date. Click on the Orientation course and follow the instructions to complete the course.

Step 3 – You will be notified once you have access to register for your classes online through self service. If you are having trouble with planning or scheduling classes, you can contact your advisor for assistance. Your advisor information will be located under “plan your degree and schedule your courses,” and click the “advising” tab.

6) Pay for your classes

The cost of attending classes at Sandhills is still one of the best values in education. The North Carolina General Assembly sets tuition rates for in-state and out-of-state residents.
