What are the upcoming financial aid deadlines?
The deadline for fall 2nd 8-week courses is September 23rd.
The deadline for spring courses is December 3rd.
When are refund checks being mailed?
Checks for regular fall and 1st 8-week classes will be mailed on September 20, 2021. Fall 2nd 8-week checks will be mailed November 12, 2021.
Can my check be picked up at the school? Does Sandhills offer direct deposit?
Sandhills can not hold checks or deposit funds into a bank account. All checks are mailed to the address on file with admissions. You can contact admissions at 910-695-3725 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
My self-service account is showing a negative balance. Do I owe this money?
A negative balance in your self-service account means you are due for a refund. These funds can be used in the SCC bookstore or you can wait and have these funds disbursed later in the semester. A positive balance means you have a balance due to the business office. You may contact the business office at 910-695-3721 or 910-695-3951.
Can I register if my financial aid is not complete?
Yes! You are never required to have financial aid in place to register. Please be sure to have all financial aid documents turned in by the deadline or be prepared to pay by the last day to pay. The last day to pay for fall 2nd 8-week courses is October 13, 2021. The last day to pay for spring classes is January 5, 2022. If your financial aid is approved after you have paid out of pocket, you will be reimbursed the amount of financial aid you received.
How long does it take for my FAFSA to be processed?
Once your FAFSA is submitted, it takes about 3-5 business days before we will receive the application. Once we have imported the application, you will be notified via your student email. This email will provide information about what documents need to be completed and where to complete them.
I submitted my financial aid documents, how long does it take to process them?
We are processing all incoming forms daily. We ask that you allow 2-3 business days for processing. During peak times, we ask that you allow 3-5 business days. If you have submitted a verification form, please know it may take up to 2 weeks for those to be fully processed.
